Meet Veronica Diaz, MD

Veronica Diaz has been in private practice since 2010. She has performed thousands of upper extremity procedures and has extensive training and experience in managing degenerative, traumatic, and sports-related conditions of the Shoulder and Upper Extremity. Her practice includes a particular emphasis on shoulder arthroscopy for the management of rotator cuff disease and shoulder replacement surgery (including anatomic and reverse designs), with a strong track record of successful outcomes. She offers comprehensive nonoperative management and surgical treatment of upper extremity fractures and soft tissue injuries. Whenever possible, she employs the least invasive treatment option available.

A native of Miami, Florida, Dr. Diaz graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Molecular Biology. At Princeton, she was a member of The Tiger Inn, as well as the Women’s Varsity Swimming and Water Polo Teams. Dr. Diaz earned her medical doctorate from the University of Florida and completed her Orthopedic Surgery residency at the University of Miami – Jackson Memorial Hospital. She completed a fellowship in Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery in Pittsburgh. She is a member of the prestigious American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons and American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and an Active Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Diaz has served as a Consultant for the Washington Nationals. She is the Medical Director of Orthopedics at Modernizing Medicine, and holds several advisory positions in health care. She is a big proponent of leveraging technology(opens in a new tab) to improve the patient experience.
